Making connections and healing weavers by building a bridge between local and global. Prem Devi is our wonder woman. From someone who hesitated to step out of her house, to visiting every loom in the village every day to supervise, Prem proved that everything is possible.
Being a Bunkar Sakhi(weaver’s friend) not just transformed her existence but also changed the lives of people around her. Prem has attended four international talks where she represented the aspirations of rural women.
Prem Devi created a ladder for the weavers to fulfill their dreams as they grow more confident and competent. Being a mentor and role-model to the artisan community Prem rewrites the conventional stereotypes and where women generally have very limited work options.
Prem Devi is a hope for a better tomorrow.
