Shanti’s determination to excel in weaving, and her will to fight exploitation & demand fairness is what makes her unique.
One might even say Shanti is an archetype of Tara Shinde from Mission Mangal.
Like Tara, Shanti too faces difficult and challenging situations but keeps moving forward. The way Tara leads her team to achieve an impossible mission without a hint of negative attitude and ego is similar to what Shanti does with her fellow weavers.
From being one among the four weavers at a contractor’s loom, to becoming the trainer and centre in charge of two centres, today Shanti provides a sustainable employment opportunity to almost 30 women of her village.
